Close your eyes and you will see clearly

Cease to listen and you will hear truth

Be silent and your heart will sing

See no contact and you will find union

Be still and you will move on the tide of the spirit

Be gentle and you will need no strength

Be patient and you will achieve all things

Be humble and you will remain Entire.

Qi Gong Meditation

History

More than 5000 years ago, Chinese physicians came to understand that everything is composed of the same energetic substance called Qi. These ancient masters concluded that there is a oneness and wholeness in all existence, and that energetically everything is interconnected as one body, Although energy may appear to take on many different forms. All things in nature and, in fact, all things in the universe are woven together so that we are, quite literally, all symbiotically one with the universe through the system of Qi. Qi is always in motion within all things, and is the catalyst for everything to relate and interrelate within the universe.

Definition

Qi means "life-force energy" and gong means "skill," so Qigong meditation is the skillful practice of gathering, circulating, and applying life-force energy. Qi training involves all of the individual's physical senses. The concentration is focused on breathing, hearing, visualizing, and muscle relaxation. Everyone can practice Qi Gong meditation to improve the health of their own physical, spiritual, and emotional bodies.

Qi Gong Meditation Practice

Practicing Qi Gong meditation involves standing. The first objective is to learn to quiet and focus the mind, and to relax the internal organs and other parts of the body. Next one aligns the body with gravity becoming rooted both structurally and energetically. The three main purposes are to cultivate, strengthen and balance your Qi. As you listen, and become mindful of the body one moves easily with fluidity. Natural energy movements occur within the body refreshing and energizing the body, mind, and soul.
